Walk Kiawah’s Beach

Walking along the beach at night is the perfect way to end your day – or give a start to your nighttime escapades. It’s been proven that the beach is actually good for your brain and stress levels, you know?

Walking the beach at night is not only beautiful as it’s perfectly lit by the moon and stars, but it can also be exciting. You might happen upon some crabs or even a loggerhead sea turtle during nesting season (although this is rare, be careful not to shine any lights nearby). Don’t forget to check out the wildlife in the daytime as well, like going to witness our local dolphins strand feeding.

Late Night Eats and Drinks

Most restaurants and venues close on the island by 9pm. However, you’ll find Freshfields Village and Bohicket Marina are the most popular places to go for Kiawah Island nightlife that’s nearby!

King Street Grille is one of our favorite options at Freshfields to grab a late-night bite to eat. Open until 11pm with a vast menu of American classics and some more creative dishes, they’re sure to have something you’ll love. Outdoor seating and signature drinks complete the fun sports bar experience here.

You can head up the road, about a mile further, to check out Salty Dog Cafe at Bohicket Marina that’s open until 10pm. You’ll find a fantastic view of Bohicket Creek and a very casual atmosphere here. Plus, it’s perfect for everyone in your family or group with a menu that’s sure to delight everyone.

While you’re here, the favorite local dive bar will surely stand out! Fischer’s Bar & Grill is right next door, and they regularly stay open until 2am during the summer season. However, keep in mind that the kitchen closes earlier – so, no late-night food.
